Police patiently sat out the SWAT standoff with the barricaded officer firing at them for THREE DAYS without tactical home invasion and intervention until he surrendered to SWAT. This is the longest standoff we are aware of that ended without injury in a peaceful arrest. If it is possible to take extra precautions and stand down when an officer in mental health breakdown fires at police, why is this not done routinely with all such situations which commonly end very quickly with SWAT executions in private homes for such offenses.
