On 09/18/2025, retired New Orleans Police Department officer Anthony Monaco Jr. died by suicide inside the DXC Technology Building, which houses NOPD headquarters. Police were dispatched around 10:35 a.m. after reports of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Monaco was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No foul play is suspected.
