On 05/23/2024, United States Border Patrol Agent Jesus Anaya died after long-term complications from COVID 19. ODMP reports he contracted COVID 19 in June 2021 while assigned to the Brownsville Border Patrol Station and remained in medical care and rehabilitation facilities for an extended period before his death. His obituary reports he died at St. Davids Hospital in Austin and identifies him as 38 years old, born 11/29/1985 in Harlingen, Texas. HonorFirst reports he entered on duty 09/27/2007 and served his career in the Rio Grande Valley Sector at the Brownsville Station. No weapon was involved.
