OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/18/2023, Officer Michael Cain Maxheimer of the Shannon Hills Police Department responded to assist a disabled motorist by pushing a vehicle from the roadway. He then responded to a complaint about two stray dogs described as aggressive. After the dogs ran into nearby woods, he returned to the police department. Shortly after returning, he reported chest pain and nausea consistent with a cardiac event. He was transported to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, where he died on 12/19/2023. Maxheimer had served approximately 16 years in law enforcement and had been with the Shannon Hills Police Department for three years. He is survived by three daughters.
