OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/06/2023, Chief Carl Douglas Kimball of the St Francisville Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 100 block of Ferdinand Street. During the response, a man inside the residence fired multiple rounds, striking Chief Kimball. Deputies and assisting officers returned fire and killed the gunman. Kimball was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. He had served as Chief of Police for the St Francisville Police Department and previously worked with the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office during his law enforcement career. He is survived by his family as reflected in official memorial records.
