OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/19/2025, Suffolk County police responded to a disturbance call at a home on Bruno Lane in Dix Hills. Officers found 75-year-old John “Jack” Miller, a retired Suffolk County police detective, with fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators said his son, Christopher Miller, shot him during a domestic dispute inside the residence. Christopher fled but was located nearby in a shed and taken into custody. He was charged with murder.
