OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Haverhill Police Officer Katelyn Tully was found dead in September 2025 while off duty. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later ruled her death to be probable cardiac dysrhythmia of uncertain etiology, meaning a fatal irregular heartbeat without a clear underlying cause. Tully had been among several officers placed on leave following the July 2025 death of Francis Gigliotti in police custody. Her sister said Tully had been under severe stress following public scrutiny and rumors surrounding the custody death investigation. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office said there was no evidence of foul play.
