OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/01/2021, Deputy Sheriff Joshua James Sieman contracted COVID-19 while serving at the Harris County Sheriff's Office Tomball Substation located at 23828 Tomball Parkway in Tomball. He died from complications of the illness on 10/21/2021 after being hospitalized for more than a month. Sieman had served with the Harris County Sheriff's Office for five years and was assigned to the evening shift in Patrol District 5, where he was a member of the Crime Reduction Unit and the High-Water Rescue Team. He previously served four years with the Roman Forest Police Department. In 2019, he received the department's Bravery Award for helping rescue a woman and her children from a house fire during a domestic violence incident. He is survived by his wife, son, parents, two brothers, and a sister.
