Jefferson County Deputy Juan Tierney Hall knocked on a door, gun in hand, while off-duty and when the unnamed 33-year-old man opened the door, the deputy opened fire and injured him. The injured man fired back and an injured Deputy Hall ran and collapsed in a grassy area and died. The deputy was not acting in the line of duty and it is unclear why he pursued and shot a man.
