Illinois State Police were conducting a search warrant in the 600 block of N. Cherry Street at the home of Aaron Michael Linke. Police allege that when they made forcible entry into the home, they heard a gunshot. Linke had allegedly committed suicide under police duress. Police did not release BWC footage and no eyewitnesses can be found to corroborate the police narrative. Linke was a former probation officer who had been arrested for distribution of cocaine in 2002. It is unknown what the charges at the time of his death were that led to the search warrant.
