Police tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle they had profiled as “suspicious.” The car did not stop and police escalated a high-speed chase. The man stopped and exited the vehicle and reportedly exchanged gunfire with police. He was shot and killed.
No video can be located. No BWC was released by police and no eyewitnesses can be found to try to reconstruct Jaylin McKenzie’s reality of events. He is not reported to have committed any crimes which warranted the traffic stop and high-speed chase. The Shelby County District Attorney declined to file charges against the shooter officers.
