Open Records Summary :

During a traffic stop in Alexandria, LA, a Rapides Parish deputy shot and killed Derrick Kittling. The deputy alleged that Derrick Kittling was noncompliant, got his hand on the taser, possibly in self-defense, and the deputy shot and killed the unarmed man. Bystander video proved the police narrative to be untruthful and showed the officer wrestling him to the ground, standing above him with his head by the officer’s feet, Kittling putting up a hand defensively as the officer aimed and fired a lethal shot in his head. The man was unarmed, not a danger to police, had no contraband, committed no crimes and was executed publicly. Ben Crump is representing the family.
