Jeffery J. Smith had previously allegedly fired a shot past a man who sexually assaulted his son’s teenage girlfriend. The man reported the incident and police and SWAT arrived to look for Smith. Smith retreated to a wooden area. Police deployed drones and brought a SWAT team. Smith allegedly fired in their direction. Police demanded he come out to be arrested. When he refused, SWAT shot and killed him.
