Lawrence PD responded to a call regarding a broken window and possible burglary. While on scene investigating, police encountered Michael Scott Blanck. Police allege that he had a gun and aimed it at police. Police shot and killed him. There are discrepant police/eyewitness statements whether or not he fired a gun. Police did not release any BWC footage of the alleged gun-pointing and it is not possible to corroborate the police narrative with the narrative provided by them. Police shot and killed him. The killing was Justified by the DA.
