Several units at the murder scene abruptly left around 10:45 a.m. to chase the person felt responsible for the homicide.Scanner traffic indicated a high-speed chase and possible shootout with the likely shooters. Police chased them into Downtown Topeka. Police allege shots were fired from the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle crashed. Police state they were once again fired at from the wreck, injuring an officer. A large group of officers with guns drawn approached the vehicle and pulled someone out. One person is confirmed dead. Circumstances were not made clear and identity was not revealed by police.
