A juvenile reported a domestic battery to an officer at the Michigan City PD. Police initiated an investigation into the domestic violence allegation and an 18-year-old male met with officers in the front lobby of the Michigan City PD. Police attempted to gather information from him but heran away from them,got into a vehicle and drove away. Police tried to traffic-stop him but Grant Grable did not stop. Police escalated the chase to a high rate of speed and he drove through an intersection and struck the concrete pillars that provide a barrier to Ames Field, went airborne into the brick wall of the bleachers and through that wall coming to rest under the bleachers.Grable died.
