The 11-year-old stepson of Robert Harris called police and reported an assault and a possible hostage situation. Harris was armed and holding his wife hostage. When police arrived, Harris shot his wife in the leg. Police gave him a beer and when he was distracted opening it, a police sniper deliberately shot and killed him.
