LASD Deputies were sent out after calls alleging a man was threatening people in a food business. LASD arrived and he went to his vehicle and emerged with a machete. Police tasered him and several officers encircled him. Sanchez, “scared for his life” per the family’s lawsuit, retreated to his truck where he was shot and killed by police. The family alleges that the shooting was akin to a firing squad with many shots fired to kill him. The lawsuit alleges that while he had a machete in his hand when he was attacked by police, he did not use it in any unlawful manner.
