NYPD officers approached Rameek Smith, claiming he looked like he had a gun. He fled on foot and was chased. Police claims that he fired two shots after a block and a half. The officers shot and killed him. NYPD was widely accused of being dishonest about the above narrative. Eyewitness accuse police of fabricating the story that he fired shots and state that they executed a man who was running away from them and presented no threat to them.
