Stillwater police and Yale ounty deputies arrived to a domestic violence call in which Johnny Higgins had dragged a woman by her hair. When police arrived, he locked himself inside of the home, holding his mother against her will. Police escalated a standoff, and brought their hostage negotiators, used teargas forced into the home until Higgins came to the door with a gun. Police shot and killed him.
