This is the second crash fatality from the accident involving officer Carille Cortez Jones of Memphis PD hose cruiser collided with an unknown blue car whose driver was widely reported as having been killed but was never named by the PD.

Police Officer CJ Jones was killed in a vehicle crash at the intersection of East Shelby Drive and Pleasant Hill Road at about 2:30 am. He was responding to a call when colliding with 2 other vehicles with significant impact and speed unknown. The driver of one of the other cars was killed in the crash but their name is not mentioned in the countless articles eulogizing the officer while not naming the second fatality involved in this on-duty crash.
