Long County deputies chased a truck for undisclosed reasons at high speed until it hit a bystander motorcycle in traffic at 92 mph, killing the motorcyclist.

Police were called to find a bicyclist with a gun and located Kelvin Plains. He reportedly tried to leave and was attacked by police with a taser. He reportedly pulled a gun after the taser attack and was engaged in a shootout by police. Two officers were injured and Kelvin Plain was killed by police.

Kenny Carr was a marine veteran who had been out with his friends drinking. He arrived at home and according to his wife, he had been drinking and was noisy. He was in a good mood but according to her, she could not get him to lower his voice as it was late at night. At some point, an argument began. According to Carr’s wife, a shot suddenly ripped through the house and her husband dropped, shot in the head by someone outside who had fired into the home. Police had gotten a 911 call from an unknown party about a domestic disturbance. Police further allege that they saw Carr holding a gun and felt forced to shoot. Carr’s widow stated that she was advised by her attorney not to discuss the gun and domestic disturbance events in more detail than is stated but that her concern is that her husband was killed in her home in front of her by an unknown assailant who had been outside of the house unbeknownst to them. Carr had a history of PTSD from military involvement, was known in recent months to consume alcohol and cope in a noisy manner according to his wife who disputes any need to shoot him, particularly in the manner as it happened.

Crookston PD arrived at a homeless shelter, found an agitated man in mental health crisis who was a resident in the homeless shelter. He was allegedly throwing items and was attacked with tasers simultaneously by 3 officers until Officer Fladland shot and killed him.

His shelter roommate whose interview is linked in the source links below stated that Christopher Ryan Junkin was a “good man” who was only experiencing a mental health episode and that he begged police to understand this and support him.

Likewise, his family spoke to media, stated that he had been a very generous and thoughtful man and why six officers reportedly participated in the fatal event and nobody reached out to help him instead of attacking him.

A link to his family’s GoFundMe page is posted in the Source Links below. His family has been unable to raise enough funds for cremation and final family wishes.

Police did not answer the question whether he had been armed or not. Police only stated that he was "being combative toward officers and was not following officers' verbal commands."

On July 9, 2024, the BCA confirmed that multiple bullet wounds had killed Junkin and simultaneously recommended not to charge officer Fladland for this killing. It was known at the time of this recommendation that he had already killed a second person days prior to being cleared.

He had been cleared back to work at an unknown time before being cleared by BCA as he was back on duty on June 30, 2024 to kill Christopher Junkin.

A St. Louis Airport PD officer who was off-duty witnessed a fight between two women. One of the women took out a pistol and shot the 23-year-old woman in the leg. The shot woman’s boyfriend, an officer, then shot and killed the shooter.

John Neibuhr was at Orlando Airport and allegedly tried to make it on a plane. Airline personnel sent him away and police followed him outside to a hotel parking lot where they found him in his car. Police state they saw a gun in the car and shot and killed him. A dog was also with him in the car and was not harmed.

A special Crime Prevention Unit of Utica PD conducted a traffic stop. Several teens ran from a vehicle. Police ran after him on foot and shot and killed a 13-year-old boy, stating he had something in his hand that looked like a gun. Bystander video appeared on social media showing several officers running after him, knocking him to the ground, pinning him and with 2 officers on top of him, a third one shot and killed the child. he had been a local middle schooler. Police initially stated that he had been armed. This turned out to be a plastic Glock 17 replica.

On 06/29/2024: Utica PD released the following:

"On June 28th, 2024 at approximately 10:18PM Utica Police officers assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit conducted a stop of two males on the 900 block of Shaw St regarding a Police investigation.

"During the course of the stop one of the juveniles fled from the officers. As the juvenile fled, what appeared to be a handgun was pointed at the officers, and one Utica Police Officer discharged one round from his firearm striking the male. Officers recovered a replica GLOCK 17 Gen 5 handgun with a detachable magazine following the shooting. Photos of the weapon will be disseminated.

"The 13-year-old Asian male juvenile was transported to Wynn Hospital where he sadly succumbed to his wounds. Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased juvenile, as well as our officers involved in this incident. We will not be releasing the names of our officers involved or the deceased party at this time, until all next of kin notifications can be made.

"As always, we are committed to transparency and earning the public’s trust in our investigations. As much information as allowable will be released during this process. However, in instances of officer involved shootings New York State Executive Law 70b mandates that the New York State Attorney General Office of Special Investigations has the lead criminal investigatory role. The Utica Police Department is conducting a joint parallel internal investigation with our Professional Standards Unit to determine if policies, procedures, and training were followed.

"Additionally, we will work closely and openly with the City of Utica Public Safety Advisory Committee. We value their mission and want to ensure through multiple facets the community is fully informed of the facts of this incident.

"Over the next several days we will be releasing multiple media formats publicly. We will release a Critical Incident Brief which will be a comprehensive overview of the events in their entirety. Additionally, we will release the full Body Worn Camera content of the involved officers. We are aware of a video of the incident circulating on social media platforms, which does not portray the incident in its entirety; we ask that the public obtains all of the information that will be made available when reviewing this tragic incident." 

On 07/01/2024, police released some edited BWC footage which showed portions of the event. Police identified to Mway that they were pedestrian-stopping them for jaywalking. Mway sounds apologetic and cooperative. Police then demanded to pat him down and he ran from them. While 2 officers were on top of him during the shooting and should have had a very clear view of him, this footage was not provided. Police finally admitted that he had been unarmed and had only a plastic replica gun but maintained that he still had this replica in his hand when killed while all footage that should exist showing him at the time of the shooting had been omitted from the publication of the BWC that is linked in the source links below.

A 911 caller reported that a female had been stabbed multiple time in the 3300 block of Park Crest Lane on the west side of Cincinnati.
