Metro Police were called to a car crash in the 2500 block of Marion Berry Avenue SE in DC. A man had crashed into a McDonald’s and was knocked unconscious by the crash. The man began moving in the vehicle and police alleged that he picked up a gun. They shot and killed him.
His sister viewed the bodycam and said that he was just waking up with a gun inches from his face and may have defensively reached to push it out of the way when the officer yelled “I will shoot you in your fucking face” and fired, killing him.
The bodycam was released on 9/11/2024 and protests erupted in DC.
