LAPD were dispatched to North Hollywood for an assault with a deadly weapon. They found a person dead in a vehicle. Police alleged their man pointed a handgun and that the officers fired at him. LAPD set up a perimeter in a large parking structure behind a Target store. The man eventually came out of the parking structure and allegedly fired shots at police again, then ran back into the parking structure. Officers open fire and killed him. It is unknown whether he actually fired any shots directly toward police.
