Spokane County deputies were sent to a residence where a man had been quarreling with a provocative neighbor. The man dismantled a neighbor’s security light that had been bothering him in his home and showed up with a baton. Police assembled a SWAT standoff and bore down on the man in his residence. When he emerged, police shot and killed him. Police refused to say whether he had fired any weapons or presented a threat to police. A police dog was injured. Police did not state how but added that the dog was checked by a vet and was well.
