During a traffic stop in Garfield Park, plainclothes Chicago PD officers with guns drawn walked up to Dexter Reed's vehicle. Police allege that he fired at them but this is not visible on bodycam. Instead, dozens of shots are fired by the couple in civilian clothing who turned out to be Chicago PD officers. The officers fired 96 bullets at Reed in 41 seconds, killing him. A sanitized portion of the bodycam was released and is linked below.
It was confirmed later that police profiled and stopped Dexter Reed due to dark window tints.
