Police allege that Matthew Lathers had injured someone in a prior robbery and when police located him, SWAT was sent and escalated a neighborhood shootout of significant proportions with SWAT escalating a militarized attack on the home and Lathers firing back. Lathers shot and injured 6 people, all of whom survived. Among them were 3 officers who had participated in the SWAT shooting of Lathers. None of the officers had significant injuries but Lathers was killed.
