Lighthorse Police were called to an apartment complex in south Tulsa where a Native American family was engaged in an unspecified domestic incident for which tribal police were sent. A man was reportedly seen assaulting a woman and child and had pointed a gun at neighbors who tried to intervene. Tulsa PD dispatched Lighthorse Police who brought SWAT and set up at the apartment complex while waiting for a warrant. An officer had gone up a ladder to break a window and was knocked off the ladder by the man. Lighthorse Police fired several shots, killing the man.
