Fort Lee PD were sent to assist in a mental health crisis. They allege that they found a "woman with a knife" after forcing entry into a home. Police shot and killed her in her home.
The family strongly disputes the police narrative. Lee's brother states that the family answered the routine question dispatchers ask whether a person has access to weapons and the family said she has a small folding pocket knife. She was no longer holding it and was holding only a water bottle when killed, not threatening anyone with it when police arrived and shot her according to the family.
