Nathan Jenkins’ father was on the phone with him while Nathan Jenkins was in a Walgreens in Smyrna. The father reports that shots rang out and he no longer could hear from his son. The father reports that his son had called him and said that he was in trouble. The father drove toward the store and reports seeing a great many police officers running, and that an altercation with Nathan Jenkins occurred inside of the store. Police shot and killed Nathan Jenkins, alleging that he had a gun. His father says that they had been on the phone talking until the very moment police gunned him down. Police have not provided bodycam, and there are currently no eyewitnesses to confirm that he had been pointing weapons instead of perhaps a phone.
