The Lewiston Police, with aid from the Auburn Police Department, Lisbon Police Department, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Maine State Police all arrived and created a standoff. The man was found dead from suicide under police duress. This shooting occurred several months after an unrelated mass shooting that had killed 18 in the same small town.
