On 8/22/2024, it was reported that the man shot and killed was retired 54-year-old FBI agent Julio Cordero whose son was a senior at the school.
FBI agent Cordero had a long and distinguished career, notably bringing about more than 40 convictions of prominent El Paso citizens involved in massive public corruption.
