Event : Motorcycle driver killed by police chase crash

OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 02/05/2026 at approximately 5:00 p.m., deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic enforcement stop on a motorcyclist near Frontage Road and Nuevo Road in Perris for an alleged traffic violation. Deputies signaled for the rider to pull over, and the motorcyclist fled at a high rate of speed, prompting a pursuit eastbound. Deputies eventually lost visual contact near Placentia Avenue and North Perris Boulevard. About two blocks east of that location, the motorcycle collided with an uninvolved passenger vehicle at the intersection of Placentia Avenue and Redlands Avenue, striking the driver’s side of the car. Emergency personnel responded and transported the rider to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he succumbed to crash-related injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not reported injured. California Highway Patrol personnel handled the post-collision investigation.
