On 02/08/2026, Dallas Police officers went to an apartment on the 5100 block of Lemmon Avenue after receiving a report that a man was threatening harm with a knife. Officers knocked on the apartment door and encountered the man holding a box cutter. After further interaction, the man came out of the apartment and moved toward officers. Officers fired their weapons, striking him in the torso. He was transported to a hospital where he died. Authorities collected evidence and began a homicide investigation into the shooting.
