On 02/08/2026, Tulsa Police officers shot and killed a 33 year old man near East 51st Street and South Sheridan Road after responding around 4:15 p.m. to reports of a man with a firearm stating he intended to do something he could not come back from. Officers located the man walking on a sidewalk near a business area northwest of the intersection. Police reported that during contact he raised a revolver and pointed it toward an officer, who fired a patrol rifle and struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer involved was placed on administrative leave under department policy and the investigation into the shooting continues.
