On 02/10/2026, St. Louis County deputies attempted to stop Donald P. Felver III while he was driving erratically on Grand Avenue in Duluth. The driver continued driving through side streets before deputies stopped his SUV near a car wash. During the encounter, Felver and deputies exchanged gunfire and deputies struck him, killing him at the scene. Authorities recovered a handgun from the vehicle and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension opened an investigation.
