On 03/24/2026, Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a barricaded hostage situation in the 3100 block of South Fulmer Circle in Tallahassee. Deputies encountered James Lee during the standoff and took him into custody after deploying a Taser. After being restrained, he became unresponsive while in custody. He was transported for medical treatment and was later pronounced dead. A woman at the residence was found severely injured. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the death.
