OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 04/22/2026, West Springfield police responded to George Street after reports of a domestic disturbance involving Vladislav G. Verloka. Officers encountered Verloka outside the residence. Police said Verloka was holding a knife during the confrontation and ignored commands from officers. Officers opened fire, striking and killing him. Emergency personnel transported Verloka to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said the investigation remains active. West Springfield Police Chief Patrick Major later stated that body camera footage and additional evidence were being reviewed as part of the investigation.
