On March 17, 2025, 28-year-old Robert "Bob" Halmayr of Glen Ellen was driving a silver Toyota Camry northbound on Farmer’s Lane in Santa Rosa when he was struck by a gray Nissan Maxima driven by Aaron Rodriguez Hernandez, 21. Hernandez was being monitored by police who had earlier observed him speeding. Although police stated they did not maintain continuous visual contact and were not in a position to conduct a stop, they saw the Maxima again shortly before the crash. The collision occurred at Montgomery Drive and Farmer’s Lane, pushing both vehicles into a nearby parking lot. Halmayr was pronounced dead at the scene. Hernandez was arrested and faces charges including vehicular manslaughter, DUI drugs with injury, and violation of probation.

On March 15, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Miami Police Department cruiser was involved in a traffic collision at the intersection of Northwest 7th Street and 47th Avenue. The impact caused the police cruiser to veer onto the sidewalk, striking two pedestrians at a bus stop.

Michelle Veronica Salmeron Membreno, 23, was critically injured and transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she died. A second pedestrian was hospitalized in stable condition with leg injuries. The officer involved was also transported to the hospital and later released.

The Miami Police Department's traffic homicide unit is investigating to determine whether the officer's emergency lights were activated and the speed of the vehicles involved.

On 03/10/2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Harrison County deputies escalated a high-speed chase of Jason Thomas Hart, 29, of Kilgore, Texas. Deputies pursued Hart at speeds reaching up to 114 mph. The chase continued until Hart lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the walkway cover of the First Baptist Church Hallsville, located at 201 N Central Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On 03/10/2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a Sherburne County deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle driven by Deke Alexander Ward Sibley, 18, of Big Lake, Minnesota, for a traffic violation on Highway 10 near 165th Avenue in Becker Township. Sibley did not stop. Deputies escalated a high-speed chase. During the pursuit, Sibley collided with a pickup truck driven by 75-year-old Douglas Raymond Laramore of Minneapolis. Sibley sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Laramore survived the crash.

On 03/09/2025, Washington County deputies attempted to stop Boyd Paul Brooke, 41, while he was riding a stolen motorcycle eastbound on Sunset Drive near Dixie Drive in St. George, Utah. Brooke did not stop. Police chased him through multiple streets, reaching speeds over 65 mph and running stop signs. At the intersection of 1400 West and Snow Canyon Parkway, he collided with a minivan while attempting to maneuver between lanes at a red light. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle had been reported stolen in 2023.

On March 8, 2025, at approximately 6:49 p.m., Ariona "Ari" Jackson, 33, of Victorville, was involved in an alleged retail shoplifting incident at the Tractor Supply store in Apple Valley, California. After store personnel recovered the items, Jackson left on foot southbound across Bear Valley Road near Savage Lane, running across all lanes of traffic. She was struck by a Mazda 6 sedan driven by a 20-year-old woman from Apple Valley. Emergency responders transported Jackson to a local hospital, and she was later airlifted to a trauma center, where she died from her injuries. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident.

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 10:58 PM, Toms River Township Police and Seaside Heights Police chased a juvenile driver in a white BMW. Police escalated the chase for failure to stop, reaching a documented speed of 118 mph. The juvenile crashed into a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Route 37 and Route 166. The driver and front-seat passenger of the Camry were killed on impact. Two backseat passengers sustained critical injuries and were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

On 03/07/2025, at approximately 6:25 p.m., a District Heights police officer attempted to stop an Infiniti SUV in the 6000 block of Marlboro Pike. The driver initially stopped but then fled northbound onto Addison Road South. The officer lost sight of the vehicle and broadcasted its description. Officers from both District Heights and Capitol Heights police departments later spotted the Infiniti and attempted another stop. Moments later, the Infiniti collided with four vehicles in the 1200 block of Addison Road South. Three-year-old Zoey Rose Marie Harrison, a passenger in one of the struck vehicles, was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her mother sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Infiniti was arrested and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The involved officers were equipped with body-worn cameras, and two vehicles had dash cameras, all of which are under review as part of the ongoing investigation.

On 03/06/2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers attempted to stop a driver on Interstate 71 near milepost 175 for alleged reckless driving. The driver, identified as Jared Shaw, 33, of Mount Vernon, did not stop. Troopers escalated a chase through Ashland County. Shaw exited onto U.S. 250 toward Ashland, continued on Ohio 60 South into Loudonville, and was chased by troopers until he lost control at the intersection of Ohio 3 and Ohio 60. His vehicle struck a utility pole. Shaw was pronounced dead at the crash site.

He did not stop. Haywood County deputies escalated a chase that ended when he collided with another car at the intersection of Highway 70 and Highway 54 in Brownsville. The 19-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the crash site.

On 03/04/2025, at approximately 5:05 a.m., Mercedes Smith was walking in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue in Glenview, Illinois, when she was struck by a Cook County Sheriff's Office squad car. She was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was initially listed in critical condition. Smith succumbed to her injuries on 03/05/2025. The Glenview Police Department, in conjunction with the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team, is investigating the incident. Details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash have not been disclosed.
