On 12/07/2025, a deputy attempted to stop a 67-year-old man on Old Highway 40 near Route M before 4 a.m. The driver continued driving and the pursuit began. The vehicle failed to make a left turn, went off the right side of the road, overturned, and ejected the man. He died at 4:03 a.m. at the scene. His identity has not been released.
