Makayla Hankins was a newlywed mother who had just gotten married 2 weeks prior. She was a third-party motorists was driving through the intersection of East 10th Street and Mitthoefer Road when she was hit and killed by a police car chase. She had worked at a local Walmart together with her husband.

Indianapolis PD had attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that kept driving. IMPD chased a vehicle up to 140 mph and then police allegedly called it off after escalating it to high risk and the vehicle crashed, T-boning Makayla's vehicle, killing both drivers and a passenger including a total of 2 third party motorists who were hit by the police chase crash. It is not immediately known who the drivers and passengers were but the fatalities are named as Makayla Hankins (21), Christian Leyba-Gonzalez (14) and Jose Gonzalez Jr. (32).

The vehicle collided with another car during the chase, killing three people. Two victims were inside the Challenger, and the third victim was the driver of the other vehicle. The driver of the Challenger survived with minor injuries. He was later sentenced to two years in prison in 2025 for his role in the deadly pursuit.

Bullhead PD officer Belarmino Diaz was involved in a vehicle crash off duty with a second party on 09/25/2023 and died from his injuries. The second driver also died. Police escalated a chase until the panicked driver ended up fleeing head-on in the wrong direction on Little Blue Parkway. Arkansas State Police saw a BMW with invalid or fake tags and escalated a high-speed chase. Arkansas State Police admits attacking the vehicle with a PIT maneuver at 120 mph. Adelanto PD followed a vehicle they believed to be stolen. Michael Wayne Owens was riding his Yamaha motorcycle and making a left turn when he was hit and killed by Arkansas State trooper Brandon Trewyn. Police report that the weather was cloudy and visibility may have ben reduced. It is unknown what the speed of both vehicles was.

Paterson PD chased a person on a scooter for reasons they did not disclose until the scooter crashed into a vehicle and the driver died. Activists began protesting after the crash, stating that police hunt motorists for a sport and PDs from other jurisdictions such as in this case had a habit of hunting motorists in Paterson. BLM Paterson and other groups have been keeping the case visible.

Police did not release the name and identity of their chase victim nor the reason why this happened.The Attorney General's office issued a vague statement, also avoiding mention why the moped had been chased at all. “If the person did something wrong, they would have said it already,” stated Paterson Black Lives Matter organizer Zellie Thomas.

One day after the fatal crash, Paterson PD announced new, more restricted, guidelines in their own pursuit policies that govern police chases.

Seyedeh Mandana Moeini was on her way to work when a Galveston sergeant speeding to a call crashed into her, killing her. It is unknown whether the call had been urgent or not. When asked, police said they “did not know” whether the officer had his lights and sirens activated and police never gave feedback to media answering this question, making it seemingly likely that these precautions may not have been in place. Additionally, a neighbor who witnesses the loud noise of the crash said she was surprised that she heard no sirens before impact and realized that police had caused the crash without apparent warning. Sgt. McNeil was wearing a body camera but at the time of this update, more than a month after the crash, there is still no record of police having released the footage. When police in SW Illinois performed a wellness check on a family, they found the parents, 2 children and 3 dogs shot to death. Anthony Chavez was an unhoused man who lived at a nearby encampment and according to the police narrative, he was standing in the roadway and hit and killed by an Adams County deputy cruiser.

The family strongly disputes this narrative and states that he had actually been in the median when inexplicably, the deputy killed him. His siblings were able to view the surveillance video from a nearby business that confirmed this.

The Sheriff’s Office seemed to vaguely backpedal on their initial claims that he had been in the middle of the roadway when killed, changing it to "The individual appears to be in the roadway several minutes prior to the collision." The family is having to fight for their rights to see the evidence and get a truthful narrative out of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office what killed their brother.

Billie Jean Butler was a passenger in a car with a friend who was being chased by police because the car’s registration had expired. The car fled because Butler was afraid of police and had some warrants. When police closed in on the vehicle, she tried to jump out, was pinned between the vehicle and some bridge architecture and died as a result of the police chase crash.
