Two Camp Pendleton Marines had passed through a construction zone in Laguna Niguel at 3 a.m., hit a wall and were sitting in a disabled car to the side of the construction zone. The driver had gotten out to call for help and 2 passengers were seated in the vehicle when deputy Michael John Miscione who had just gotten off work and was driving home in his truck fell asleep while driving and hit the disabled vehicle at 88 mph, killing both Marines. KelvontaeZikel Banks was killed early Friday morning after an officer crashed into his car on Georgia Highway 85 near Riverdale. Family report that the Clayton County police car came out of nowhere. “No lights on, no nothing” said father of deceased. A baby was injured.His father stated:"He was coming to pick his child’s mom up at 1 o’clock at this KFC and he was looking at him come in. He saw my son turn in and this police officer came out of nowhere, with no lights on or nothing and he killed my son," Butler said. His 2-year-old was in the backseat when he died and was admitted to Children's Hospital.

Ashley Irvin was driving down Thomas Lane in Augusta when a high-sped police chase slammed into her the car, killing her. She had been a mother of two. Cedar Rapids officers tried to stop a black Chevy Tahoe for traffic violations on 33rd Avenue Southwest but the driver, Jamie Hill, didn’t stop. Cedar Rapids PD escalated a chase onto I-380 southbound when Hill took the Highway 30 West exit ramp, lost control and rolled the vehicle several times. He died at the scene.

On 10/31/2022 at about 1:05 a.m., a Taylor Police Department officer was responding to a call for service and searching for an address when his patrol vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway at the intersection of Goddard Road and Westlake Avenue in Taylor. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Michigan State Police are investigating the fatal crash, including review of in-car camera footage, vehicle inspection, medical examiner findings, and prosecutor review.

On 10/31/2022 shortly after 2 a.m., Cedar Rapids Police Department officers attempted to stop a black Chevy Tahoe for traffic violations on 33rd Avenue Southwest. Carrollton police officer Steve Nothem was hit and killed Tuesday night after arriving to back up a fellow officer at 1905 E. President George Bush Turnpike when his squad car was hit at 10:24 p.m. while he was still inside. The driver who hit him, 82-year-old Phillip Parker of Carrollton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Larry Walker became tangled in the vehicle’s seatbelt when a carjacker stole his car and drove off, dragging Walker for several miles during a police chase with the vehicle owner dragging on the ground allegedly under the vehicle. The stolen vehicle flipped after it collided with multiple police cars. Walker’s body was found three houses down from the crash in the city of Inglewood, and he was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

On October 13, 2022, Indiana State Police pursued a stolen U-Haul truck on the Indiana Toll Road toward Chicago. The driver continued at high speed despite commands to stop. Near Gary, the truck struck an SUV, hit a utility pole, rolled over, and came to rest near 5th Avenue and Jefferson Street. The driver of the stolen U-Haul was killed at the scene. Another motorist was injured and transported to the hospital.

Las Vegas Metro PD initiated a chase after a traffic stop for unknown reasons. Police chased the vehicle around 12:30 a.m. in the 8300 block of West Charleston Boulevard after he drove away from the traffic stop. The chase led to a fatal crash, killing Angel Ortega. Georgia State Police troopers were patrolling I-75 in Clayton County when a Ford Fusion was seen speeding and not using a turn signal. Troopers escalated a chase and the Fusion fled. Troopers continued chasing the vehicle at high speeds into Fulton County when the took an exit ramp onto State Route 166. As he was entering the ramp, the vehicle drove off the road and went down and embankment where it ultimately flipped over, killing the driver. Bradley Michael Swink was the driver of a Honda Accord chased by Hickory PD because the Honda was reported stolen, police said. When an officer tried to stop the vehicle on Wednesday, the driver did not stop and Hickory PD escalated a chase that ended shortly before 10 p.m., when it crashed into another vehicle at Springs Road near the intersection with McDonald Parkway. The Honda had struck a Jeep Wrangler that had four passengers between the ages of 15-17. All four were taken to an area hospital.
Bradley Michael Swink, 30, of Conover, was ejected from the vehicle he was driving and was pronounced dead at the scene. No video, dashcam footage or other evidence can be found by open search.

Around 11:56 p.m. on 10/05/2023, deputies were called to the 5000 block of Majors Drive in the town of Onondaga for reports of a burglary that occurred while a resident was at home. Onondaga deputies called in their Air 1 helicopter as well as Syracuse PD. Police saw two vehicles speeding away that were later determined to be stolen in another burglary.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop on both vehicles but both vehicles failed to stop and police escalated a chase. During the chase, the first vehicle crashed in the 300 block of East Seneca Turnpike after running off the road, hitting a tree and rolling over several times. The driver was ejected from the car and died. Police did not publicly identify him nor provide video evidence.

Three juveniles were filmed finding a Maserati with the keys left in the ignition and allegedly stole it in Pinellas County. Deputies escalated a chase to over 100 mph, resulting in a crash during which the Maserati exploded. One of the passengers, 15-year-old Mario Bonilla was killed. LAPD claim they called off the chase and turned off their lights and sirens. The crash occurred less than five seconds after the sirens and lights were turned off, as is commonly the case.
Jasmine Mines, an attorney representing the Keyes and Harris families, said the newly released video shows inconsistencies with LAPD’s initial account of events.
“Even though the sirens were off, the officers were clearly still in pursuit. Initially, the LAPD officers stated they retreated and there were 15 seconds from the time they retreated to the time of the collision that ended in fatality. LAPD stated they were not engaged in any chase,” Mines said.
The dashcam video shows the officers chasing the Cadillac through at least four intersections with their lights and sirens on.
