On February 3, 2025, at approximately 6:07 p.m., 68-year-old Manuel Bonilla-Gomez was riding his bicycle southbound on Clinton Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut. He reportedly entered the intersection with Connecticut Avenue (Route 1) and was struck by an unmarked police SUV driven by Detective Andrew Roncinske, who was traveling eastbound with a green light. Bonilla-Gomez was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Connecticut State Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.

As officers from multiple departments attempted to stop her, she crashed the vehicle in a parking lot, exited, and attempted to cross I-495 on foot. On February 1, 2025, Lake Forest Park police chased a 16-year-old until the vehicle crashed and the driver died in Bothell, Washington. Additionally, two passengers were injured. On 02/01/2025, a Columbia County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on Interstate 90 near Portage. On January 31, 2025, Nathan Harper, a 41-year-old white male, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer northbound on Academy Road near Brooks Lane in Portland, Tennessee, when Sumner County Sheriff's deputies initiated a high-speed chase of a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The pursued vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with Harper’s vehicle, causing it to overturn. Bystander Harper was pronounced dead at the crash site. On January 27, 2025, Jerry Wayne Thompson, a 55-year-old man wanted in connection with a homicide in Anderson County, Kansas, died following a police pursuit that ended in a crash in Kiowa County. Thompson had been sought after 36-year-old Sheila Kendall was found dead in a residence he owned in Kincaid, Kansas.

After an arrest warrant was issued, the Kansas Highway Patrol located Thompson driving a stolen 2009 Ford Focus on U.S. 54 near Greensburg.
