San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2600 block of North Mountain Avenue in Upland and located his parked vehicle. Deputies heard gunfire in the area and requested air support.
A helicopter crew observed Martha in nearby hills firing a handgun. Deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division and crisis negotiators responded and attempted to communicate with him. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Martha later moved from his position toward deputies while still holding the handgun. Deputies opened fire, striking him. He was pronounced dead at the location.

Owens was sentenced to 20 years, split to serve five years in prison followed by five years of probation.

According to the Lipscomb police crash report, the officer ultimately ended the pursuit before the Challenger crashed. The driver reportedly told investigators he had been traveling at high speed because he believed police were surrounding his house. Multiple firearms were recovered from the crash scene, including an AR-15 and a firearm equipped with a Glock switch.

Deputy Leonard had just arrested a female on a bridge who was fighting with a man when he disappeared from radio contact. His cruiser was found upside down submerged under mud and water in the Tennessee River. .A handcuffed female was found drowned in the backseat of the vehicle when the vehicle was found underwater upside down. There was no trace of Deputy Leonard. His body was later found in the river. Deputy Leonard was new in the area, having moved from NYC only a few months prior. It was 9 p.m. and dark. He was not familiar with the area. According to police, he was distracted radioing and texting when he went in the water.

On February 13, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Southfield Police officers received an ALPR alert on a white 2003 Kia sedan reported stolen out of Detroit on February 5. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Jarrell Dewand Newman III of Taylor, Michigan, did not stop. Police escalated a chase, accelerating speeds northbound on Evergreen Road. Newman lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a reinforced fence near a DTE substation between Westhampton and Westover. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Kassandra Lozano was a passenger in the car of off-duty officer Pedro Lozano who crashed into a vehicle on the side of the road that had stopped to help a vehicle rolled over in the ditch. The officer in a Corvette smashed into the Good Samaritans’ vehicle, killing Kassandra Lozano and critically injuring one of the Good Samaritans and officer Lozano. A blood alcohol level was ordered on Officer Lozano, results not published by police. It is unknown how fast he had been driving. The crash occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Bob Bullock Loop

On February 12, 2024, at around 1:06 PM, the Lake Havasu City Police attempted to stop a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro after it was observed speeding near Acoma Blvd S and Demaret Dr. The vehicle fled from officers but was not pursued initially. Police later saw the Camaro again committing traffic violations at Sweetwater Ave and McCulloch Blvd S. After another failed traffic stop attempt, the driver fled again, leading to a low-speed pursuit north on Sweetwater Ave. The chase continued southbound on State Route 95 before the driver of the Camaro crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2004 Beaver Motorhome. The Camaro's driver, identified as 49-year-old Adam Zink, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A passenger in the motorhome was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Lake Havasu City Police Department's Crash Team is handling the investigation.

On February 11, 2024, at approximately 4:17 p.m., Ionia County Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the Walmart and Menards parking lot, where five people had allegedly stolen a vehicle, driven it to Walmart, and stolen another vehicle. They then proceeded to Menards and stole a second vehicle before leaving the area.

An area broadcast was sent to surrounding counties, and Clinton County Deputies located the stolen vehicles. They initiated a high-speed pursuit through Clinton, Eaton, and Ionia Counties. Officers deployed spike strips. The second vehicle, a 2020 Kia Forte, continued northbound on Sunfield Highway near Bippley Road in Sebewa Township, where it lost control and struck a tree. A female passenger from Lansing was pronounced dead at the crash site. The other occupants were transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with injuries.
