On 07/31/2025, Iron County deputies attempted a traffic stop on northbound Interstate 15 for speeding. The driver, 83-year-old John Edgar Beck, continued driving and allegedly forced other vehicles off the road. Deputies performed a PIT maneuver between mile markers 71 and 72, causing Beck’s vehicle to crash. He was killed in the wreck. The case remains under investigation.

On 07/31/2025, a Navasota Police officer initiated a traffic stop for a motorcycle without a visible license plate, northbound on Highway 6, around 7:40 p.m. The rider, identified as Christopher McMurtry of Houston, fled at high speed, exited onto FM 2154 service road, lost control, veered into a grassy ditch, and crashed into a property fence. Emergency responders, including Navasota Fire Department and Grimes County EMS, were on scene. McMurtry was airlifted to St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan, where he later died from his injuries. The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation, alongside the Navasota Police Department.

Around 1:00 a.m. on July 31, 2025, Fairburn police attempted to stop a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 28-year-old in connection to a previous kidnapping. The driver did not stop, and officers escalated a high speedpursuit onto I-85 northbound near Senoia Road. Police conducted a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to hit the median and roll over during which the man was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries. Georgia State Patrol responded after the crash.

Late on July 30, 2025, the Dallas Police Department initiated a vehicle stop in Garland on a vehicle linked to previous incidents. In the early morning hours of July 30, 2025, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department pursued a stolen vehicle occupied by juveniles. The vehicle crashed near the intersection of South Grand Boulevard and Taft Avenue. Several teenagers fled the scene, and a 16-year-old male pedestrian ran into the street, where he was fatally struck by a police SUV responding to the chase. On 07/29/2025, Milwaukee Police officers attempted to initiate a pursuit of a reckless driver near Center Street. The driver fled and the pursuit continued for approximately two miles. The fleeing vehicle ran a red light at North Humboldt Avenue and West Brady Street and collided with another car containing an uninvolved motorist, El Moctar Sidiya, 29, who was killed as a result of the collision. Two other occupants in Sidiya’s vehicle were hospitalized with serious injuries.

On 07/28/2025, 33-year-old Briana Cisick of Mesa was struck and killed by a Hayden Police Department patrol vehicle while walking along U.S. 60 near Silly Mountain Road in Pinal County. She died at the scene. Eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating.

A Knox County deputy attempted to stop a side-by-side ATV driven by Todd St. John, 21, with another occupant on SE Business Drive in Corbin. During the attempted stop, the deputy’s cruiser collided with the ATV, causing the ATV to crash. St. John died from injuries sustained in the collision. At approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 23, 2025, deputies with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office clocked a truck traveling 124 mph on State Highway 31 west of Tyler, near Greenbrier Road. The driver, 17-year-old Joel Munoz, turned off his headlights and fled, prompting a pursuit. A second deputy joined as the truck turned onto Pleasant Hollow Road. The high-speed chase ended violently when the vehicle left the roadway, flipped multiple times, and ejected both Munoz and a juvenile passenger.
Joel Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The pursuit and crash remain under investigation by Smith County authorities.

Rodriguez moved his damaged patrol vehicle to the shoulder but did not adequately secure the disabled Nissan or warn approaching motorists. The Nissan remained disabled in the HOV lane. Minutes later, a vehicle driven by Iris Salmeron, traveling at more than 100 mph, struck the Nissan and caused it to burst into flames.
