On 01/01/2025, Shasta County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of 52-year-old William Clark Littlefield under the influence of substances at a residence in the 12000 block of Bob's Mountain Road in Redding, California, who was reportedly threatening to blow up a vehicle and harm himself. Some sort of confrontation ensued after the officer positioned his patrol car to block the path of Tyler Quentin Balaskovits’s pickup truck, resulting in a collision between the patrol car and the truck.

On 12/02/2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from the Fountain Valley Police Department initiated a pursuit of Timothy Bradford Cole II, a 43-year-old documented member of a white supremacist gang. The pursuit began after Cole allegedly set fire to a bush outside his sister's fiancé's residence in retaliation for losing custody of his children. This custody loss was reportedly initiated by his sister contacting child protective services.

Cole fled the scene in a white Dodge Ram pickup truck. The pursuit, lasting less than a minute and covering just over a mile, ended at the intersection of Ellis Avenue and Magnolia Street when Cole ran a red light and collided with a white BMW X3.

On October 26, 2024, Fresno Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire in the area of S 8th Street and E Verrue Avenue. Approximately an hour after officers arrived, Andy Morales, identified as the presumed shooter, returned to the location. Police reported that Morales fired a shot at an officer, injuring them. In response, the officer shot Morales, who later died from his injuries. The officer who was injured was transported to the hospital, but is expected to recover.
