The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, along with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Marshals, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, went to a trailer to attempt to arrest Arnold Frazier Hager Jr. Hager was wanted for eight counts of sexual battery on a child in Maryland. When officers arrived, they used a PA system to order Hager to exit the trailer. Hager fired a gun from the trailer before coming out with a black semiautomatic handgun in his hand. Officers from FDLE and JSO shot and killed him.

On 05/25/2021, West Palm Beach police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on 36th Court where Calvin Nance had shot another person. Officers encountered him inside the residence and attempted to take him into custody. Gunfire occurred during the confrontation and officers opened fire, striking Nance. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident entered review by state investigators under officer-involved shooting protocols.

On 05/19/2021, Collier County sheriff’s deputies responded to a request for assistance from the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office involving a dump truck reported stolen and being driven into Immokalee. Deputies attempted to stop the truck as it traveled through the area. The driver continued driving and struck another vehicle on New Market Road, injuring that driver. The dump truck continued through Immokalee into the Farm Worker Village area while deputies pursued. During the pursuit, deputies fired at the vehicle. The dump truck then left the roadway and crashed into a canal, where the driver, Rudolfo Villanueva, was killed. Authorities reported that the crash followed a prolonged pursuit involving multiple collisions. No charges were filed against deputies, and no final public outcome beyond the initial review was reported.

Officers from the Miramar Police Department attempted to stop a black Mercedes sedan. The driver, Everette Orette Brown, continued driving and headed south on Southwest 64th Avenue, where the Mercedes struck a pedestrian. Officers pursued the car until it crashed into multiple light poles and a fire hydrant, overturning around 9 p.m. Brown was killed in the crash.

A trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol allegedly clocked a vehicle at 111 mph on a highway near Tampa. When the trooper attempted to pull over the driver, Jennifer Carvajal, she made a hard right turn, sending the Hyundai Elantra down an embankment. The vehicle went airborne, hitting a concrete light pole and a palm tree. Pedro Carbajal, 22, was killed in the crash. Carvajal, 24, was arrested, and other occupants were injured.

Officers from the Winter Haven Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call around 10:10 p.m. after Larry Jenkins fired a gun in his apartment. Jenkins was shot and killed after he allegedly pulled a gun out of his pocket following being tasered at least twice.

Ojay Cummings rear-ended a car driven by a man who was with his wife. After an argument, Cummings took a swipe at her phone and ran when the husband called 911. A Fruitland Park officer responding to the call arrived about a minute later and saw Cummings jump off a bridge. Officers searched for him with the help of the sheriff's drone unit but had to call off the search due to darkness. Deputies found his body the next day.

Dispatch received several 911 calls reporting a man with a knife who had cut himself inside the Ross clothing store. Someone from an apartment reportedly informed officers that a man inside had hostages. As police waited outside, Raheem Reeder reportedly jumped from the second story and waved a gun at officers, who shot and killed him.

When two officers arrived, Hughes refused to leave. As officers attempted to take Hughes into custody, a struggle ensued lasting more than 60 seconds with one of the officers. Hughes reportedly gained control of Officer J. H. Wing's Taser, stunned him once, and was then shot and killed by the officer.

On 03/28/2021, a high-speed police pursuit that began in Osceola County continued west into Jackson County, Florida, and ended in a fatal crash along Interstate 10 near mile marker 136. Florida Highway Patrol troopers joined the pursuit, which resulted in one person being killed and two others critically injured when the fleeing vehicle crashed. Reports initially conflicted regarding the number of occupants and victims, but the Florida Highway Patrol later confirmed the fatality and injuries. The investigation remains active.

Courtney Wright, 30, sped through a red light after a Lake Wales police officer clocked him going 98 mph in a 60 mph zone. The officer activated his lights and siren and attempted to pull Wright over, but he continued driving. As the vehicle approached the intersection of U.S. 27 and Chalet Suzanne Road, Wright began to change lanes, weaving through traffic at high speed. He failed to stop at a red light and crashed his 2010 gray Chevrolet Equinox into a 2003 gray Chevrolet Silverado driven by bystander Raymond Hart, 80, who was killed in the collision.

A Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputy was filling up his cruiser at the RaceTrac gas station around 6 a.m. when he encountered James Zambrotto, who was reportedly rambling about wanting to kill people. The deputy called for backup. Zambrotto later crashed his car into another vehicle and fired upon responding deputies, who shot and killed him.

Daryl Lenard Jordan attempted to steal a bicycle from a bus, leading to a confrontation with the bike owner during which Jordan pulled out a gun and fired shots. Deputies responded around 9:30 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at a business. De'Marquez Patterson allegedly entered the store with a gun and demanded money from an employee before fleeing. A couple of hours later, Tallahassee Police Department officers attempted to stop him at his home, but he sped away in his vehicle. Patterson refused to pull over, driving at high speeds until he crashed into a utility pole. After the crash, Patterson exited the vehicle and ran north on Mission Road, pointing a handgun at his head. An LCSO deputy released a police dog on Patterson, who was later found dead with a reportedly self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officer Jesse Madsen was killed after he veered into oncoming traffic. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. and shut down I-275. Joshua Daniel Montague was traveling the wrong way on the interstate when he hit Madsen's patrol vehicle. Both Madsen and Montague died in the collision.

Officers from the Lakeland Police Department were dispatched at 6:25 a.m. to the Cobblestone Landing townhomes following a 911 call reporting a man with a gun. Upon arrival, three officers encountered a man with a handgun standing alongside a 37-year-old woman in the parking lot. As the woman turned toward one of the officers, the man, identified as Howayne T. Gayle, pointed his gun and fatally shot her in the abdomen. Officer Brent Behrens then shot and killed Howayne T. After losing contact, officers entered the home and found Hopkins barricaded in the bathroom, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Phillip Francis, 43, allegedly choked a woman, set her house on fire, and later returned to the scene where he began shooting at deputies. A patrol officer from the Sarasota Police Department responded to a call reporting gunfire in the 2400 block of Bay Street in Sarasota, Florida.
