On November 26, 2024, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers observed a black 2015 Infiniti Q50 traveling northbound in Catoosa County at 114 mph in a 70 mph zone. Troopers attempted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Hugo Julian Urbano Chavez of Dalton, Georgia, did not stop. Troopers escalated a chase to unknown speeds. As Chavez approached Exit 348, he attempted to pass vehicles on the left shoulder, lost control, crossed all northbound lanes, struck a guardrail, and overturned. Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, 30-year-old Angel Aleman of Dalton, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The GSP is conducting an investigation into the incident.

On November 22, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., the Floyd County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office to serve arrest warrants on 52-year-old Charles H. Woodall. The warrants included charges of entering auto, rape, and incest. Authorities determined that Woodall was staying at a residence off Ficklen Church Way near Canton, Georgia.

Just after 11:00 p.m., deputies from both sheriff's offices approached the residence to serve the warrants. Woodall was armed and pointed a gun at the deputies. The Cherokee Multi-Agency SWAT Team responded to assist with the apprehension. Despite negotiation efforts lasting nearly an hour, Woodall refused to disarm and continued to aim his weapon at law enforcement officers. Deputies then shot Woodall. After the shooting, deputies administered aid until Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services arrived and pronounced Woodall dead at the scene.

On November 16, 2024, Banks County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a white Kia Optima for failing to maintain its lane on Interstate 85 Northbound near mile marker 149. The driver, later identified as 17-year-old Jalah Claitt from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, did not stop. Deputies initiated a pursuit that continued onto GA State Route 59 into Jackson County. Deputies lost sight of the vehicle on U.S. 441 near GA State Route 326 in Commerce.

On November 13, 2024, at approximately 10:50 p.m., a Coweta County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a Chrysler 300 for a registration violation on Highway 29 near Tommy Lee Cook Road. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Jason Andre Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia, failed to stop, initiating a high-speed pursuit reaching speeds up to 110 mph. The chase continued into Fulton County, where deputies executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver on Roosevelt Highway, disabling Wilson’s vehicle.

On November 12, 2024, at approximately 11:14 p.m., deputies from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Anthony Wayne Holcomb of Chattanooga, Tennessee, for a traffic violation on Highway 27, just north of Summerville. On October 30, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Conyers Police Department officers responded to a 911 call from a clerk at the Chevron gas station located at 1135 Sigman Road. The clerk reported that a patron, identified as 40-year-old Jesse Roach of Carrollton, Georgia, had threatened him with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Roach inside the store. As they attempted to detain and identify him, Roach pushed past the officers and exited the store. An officer deployed a taser, but Roach removed the taser probes. He then allegedly drew a firearm from his pocket and fired at the officers. The officers returned fire, striking Roach. On October 22, 2024, just before 5:00 p.m., Lawrenceville Police Department investigators located Terrell Laron Hoggro, 59, at the Quality Inn on Northeast Expressway in Chamblee, Georgia. Hoggro was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses related to recent armed robberies in Lawrenceville. As officers conducted surveillance and coordinated resources for his arrest, Hoggro exited a motel room. Officers immediately attempted to arrest him. On August 15, 2024, at approximately 10:20 p.m., the Laurens County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute at a residence in the 2000 block of Sudie Pearl Jones Road in Alamo, Georgia. Upon arrival, a deputy found that the suspect, Curtis “CJ” Glen Purvis Jr., had already left the scene. While the deputy was speaking with the victim, Purvis Jr. returned, driving his vehicle into another car and striking the victim's father. In response, the deputy fired at Purvis Jr.'s vehicle before it came to a stop.

Upon arrival, they discovered 51-year-old Cotina Louise Fuller suffering from gunshot wounds. She died from her injuries at the scene.
