Kane County sheriff's deputies and officers from several other police departments responded to at the intersection of Fabyan Parkway and Randall Road in Geneva to chase a stolen car. A police chase led to a crash with officers shooting and killing an unnamed person. A Kane County Sheriff’s K-9 police dog was also shot and killed, possibly by friendly fire of officers’ bullets.No officers were charged.

At approximately 3 a.m. Tuesday, an Illinois State Police trooper stopped on the right shoulder on I-64 to assist a stranded motorist and a passenger. A second officer arrived for routine assistance shortly after. For unknown reasons, Brandon Griffin, who was in the vehicle got into a shootout with one of the troopers.He was shot and killed.

Dolton police responded to a domestic call for a man trespassing at an ex-girlfriend’s home in the 600 block of East 144th Place just after 5 a.m., allege the man was armed. Police shot and killed him. Police did not publicly identify him.

Reginald Clay Jr. was a 24-year-old father who was shot and killed by Chicago PD on 04/15/2023 in the 3800 block of West Flournoy Street in the North Lawndale neighborhood. Joliet PD arrived at a domestic disturbance incident when Jamal Maurice Smith was heard arguing with a woman. Police heard shots fired. They entered and within seconds, they had shot Smith multiple times. One of the bullets had hit his neck. He died in the hospital later.

A Chicago police officer fatally shot a person who had a gun during a foot chase Saturday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, according to police. At about 10 a.m., officers were in the 3800 block of West Flournoy Street on a “gang de-escalation mission,” following another fatal shooting that happened previously. A person leaning into a car ran through a gangway when they approached. As Chicago PD chased him, he allegedly turned toward the officer with a handgun before one officer shot and killed him.

Police responded to the home in the 600 block of Hillside Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. on 03/18/2023 for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers encountered Dunn who pointed an AR-15 rifle and then retreated back into the home with his gun in hand. He locked himself inside the home. The SWAT-like Northern Illinois Police Alarm System forcibly entered the home and found him dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

Reginald Allen was in his home in the 700 block of McBride Avenue when Dupo PD created a SWAT standoff where shots were exchanged. When police forcibly entered the residence, they found Reginald Allen shot to death inside the garage of his home of a self-inflicted gunshot, having committed suicide under police duress. Police had warrants for his arrest.

An off-duty officer allegedly broke up a fight between Smith and 3 others, claiming that Smith attempted to rob her. After a struggle, the officer shot Smith. Two shots were heard at which point Smith can be heard saying: 'You got me, you got me.'

The driver of the SUV Woltz-Hernandez hit, 65-year-old Julie McGowan of Rantoul, also died at the scene. A man in a third car was hurt and taken to the hospital. Peoria PD responded to a call alleging Samuel Vincent Richmond was having a mental health crisis and mentioned suicide. Separately, police also investigated two Shotspotter alerts near a park. Peoria PD allege that Richmond pointed a gun at them and that they shot and killed him. Richmond had been. a very popular local man, nicknamed “Meatman” for his many years of working at Kroger’s in the meat department. His family challenges the officers’ statements and feels that this could have been resolved without a shooting.

Chicago PD patrol officers were reportedly flagged down by a person who claimed that someone had pointed a gun at them. Police then spotted a person who matched the description, tried to arrest him. He fled and police tasered him, allege that he fired a shot at them and finally shot and killed Antonio Calmese. No video or other evidence can be located to corroborate police claims of him firing a shot.

After reports of two separate carjackings, Chicago PD were then dispatched to a call of multiple people attempting to set a white pickup truck on fire on the 3400 block of South Leavitt. The group then got into a black Honda and fled the area. Chicago PD said they located the black Honda and attempted to traffic-stop it but the vehicle fled and crashed into a Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota, a 55-year-old woman, was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police escalated the chase to a high rate of speed and he drove through an intersection and struck the concrete pillars that provide a barrier to Ames Field, went airborne into the brick wall of the bleachers and through that wall coming to rest under the bleachers. Grable died.

George Franklin was allegedly trying to get into his mother's home when police came to a disturbance call. They allege that Franklin began shooting at them. They shot and killed him. No video can be found to verify the official story.
