After a car chase and a foot chase, Floyd County deputies said they arrested 43-year-old Steven Moore. Police claim that he “became unconscious and appeared to be suffering from a medical emergency.” He died. No updates on his cause of death were given.

Multiple agencies responded to a home on Krypton Lick Branch Road around 11am on 01/02/2023. A Kentucky State Police official stated that Jerry Preston of Krypton, became, “a deadly threat to law enforcement”. Police say both deputies and KSP troopers shot and killed him. The narrative remains vague and no detailed explanation what happened that led to Jerry Preston being shot dead in his home has been provided by police to date.No officers were charged.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a Webster County deputy was pursuing a SUV for reckless driving. Police escalated a chase on Nebo Road/US 41a and had crossed into Hopkins County. Hopkins County deputies approached the vehicle in the 4400 block of Nebo Road where it had come to a complete stop in the middle of the roadway. William "Billy" Atkins had a mental health disorder, appeared to be in a delusional state but was very upbeat according to his mother. Fort Knox PD responded to a call of a suspicious person near the post's visitor center. It is unknown how they approached him but Atkins fled from police onto the Fort Knox military base while being chased by 3 patrol cars. A standoff ensued and Atkins allegedly tried to escape the situation, “attempted to ram” police cars and was shot dead. On December 7, 2021, at approximately 5:43 p.m., Sergeant Chris Lewis of the Elizabethtown Police Department responded to a domestic violence investigation on Pleasant View Drive. Upon arrival, Sergeant Lewis encountered Gary McCormick. An altercation ensued, during which McCormick disarmed Sergeant Lewis of his taser and attempted to use it on him. In response, Sergeant Lewis discharged his firearm, fatally wounding McCormick. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner.

A computer check revealed that the individual, later identified as 44-year-old Arthur Hunt of Hendersonville, Tennessee, was wanted on an extraditable warrant from Florida related to a DUI crash. During the encounter, police engaged in an altercation with Hunt. He responded by pointing a gun at the officer and fleeing on foot into a nearby vacant apartment. Law enforcement established a perimeter and deployed tear gas. After a six-hour standoff, officers located Hunt hiding in the attic between two walls. Upon his emergence, police claim that he pointed a firearm at the officers, prompting them to fire, resulting in his death. At approximately 2:52 p.m. on October 17, 2021, a Kentucky State Police trooper observed a Yamaha motorcycle traveling eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway near the 132-mile marker. The trooper initiated a traffic stop, but the motorcyclist, later identified as 36-year-old Michael C. Beaver, did not stop and continued eastbound. Police escalated a chase. Beaver entered I-65 northbound at the 91-mile marker and continued for approximately 3 miles with police in hot pursuit. He exited I-65 at the 94-mile marker, lost control of the motorcycle on the offramp, and crashed. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
